The Egg of the Stone Child
July 19, 2013
Here’s a photo of something I saw while walking in the Highlands last week that reminded me of Brendan’s post about unique monsters.
Let’s say this cracked boulder (about four feet high, by the way) is known as the “Stone Egg” or the “Stane Hoose”. From it, according to local folklore, the legendary Stone Child hatched. The Stone Child is all grown up now – and known throughout the realm as the Stone Giant.
A simple but evocative bit of setting fluff inspired by a big grey rock. I might use this in Ebidoria.
